Zombex is a throw-back zombie horror film set in historic New Orleans, using a pharmaceutical company as the culprit for outbreak, a private military contracting firm as the clean up, and a caravan to Austin Texas as the only hope for a vaccine. With the feel of the old classic zombie films that established the genre (Zombie, Dellamorte Dellamore), mixed with the energy and intensity of the new wave zombie films, such as 28 Days Later, The Crazies, and the new Dawn of the Dead, Zombex pulls from a wide variety of inspiration to construct this unique and wholly original view of the post-apocalyptic zombie America. The story follows Charlie Thibideaux, a locally famous Zydeco player, as he slowly begins to discover why seemingly normal people are starting to turn into the undead, with all signs pointing to a new experimental drug given to post-Katrina survivors.

Lots of Horror Names Sing Their Cares Away in Zombex

What goes together better than zombies and music? Nothing! Though a bullet and Bin Laden's left eye is a close second. In any event word has just broken about a new tune driven flick that's filled with tons of horror icons! Read on for the details.
Zombex is on its way from indie director Jesse Dayton, and dig on the rogue's gallery he has starring in his flick - Lew Temple, David Christopher, Emily Kaye, Malcom McDowell, Sid Haig, Corey Feldman, and Edward St. Pe'.
No word on distro yet, but keep an eye on the Official Zombex website and the Official Zombex Facebook pagefor more.
Synopsis
ZOMBEX tells the story of a post-Katrina New Orleans as it deals with a new disaster, a zombie apocalypse. Gone is the depression and post-traumatic stress of the hurricane, thanks to the revolutionary ZOMBEX, a rogue, yet "clinically-proven" anti-depressant pharmaceutical manufactured by a nefarious organization. For the residents of the Big Easy everything is just now turning around for them. Or is it just the anti-depressant ZOMBEX talking. It is. Just as quickly as the city seemingly turned around, it turns again. Only this time turning NOLA's inhabitants into the city's walking dead.
